Make a botanical pendant at Pop Up In The Palm House
Enjoy a relaxing few hours in the beautiful grounds of Sefton park creating a hand crafted, fine silver pendant made using the impression of natural foliage, herbs or even a flower.
Metal clay looks and feels just like ordinary clay however it is mostly made up of fine silver, which when fired fuses together creating a solid piece of fine silver jewellery. In this workshop we’ll help you create a beautiful pendant using your choice of foliage.
During this workshop your tutors will show you the best techniques for getting the best impression from your foliage, how to handle the precious metal clay, how to fire your pendant and also how to add all the final touches such as polishing, sanding, adding jump rings amongst many other skills.
You are more than welcome to bring your own flowers, leaves, herbs and foliage to choose from but we will have plenty on hand too. Please do not pick flowers or plants from inside the palm house or its grounds which have been purposefully planted. Sefton park has plenty of amazing wild patches and trees which offer beautiful leaves and textures, you are more than welcome to collect fallen foliage and leaves.
This workshop is part of the event Pop Up In The Palm House and you can find us in our private marquee in the grounds where the plan house is located.
