Balinese silversmithing shears
My absolute most favourite, go-to tool in the workshop, my handmade in Bali shears. If you have attended one of our classes you’ll know exactly what i’m talking about when I say these are the best thing since sliced bread. They cut sheet metal like a hot knife through butter, your days of sawing through endless bezel backplates are over, snip your excess backplate away in seconds. They’ll cut a maximum of 1.2mm wire and 0.8mm sheet silver but use your own intuition to gauge how each thickness feels when cutting also.
Every balinese silversmith has at least one pair of these on their bench and use them for more than just cutting and snipping, they often use the handle as a hammer, mandrel or to push bezels and rings down a ring mandrel to stretch them.
Please note our Bali shears are on pre-order and are currently in transit from me (Britt) to Andrew in the uk where each pair will be shipped out to their forever home on the 13th of July (Estimated shipping date).
