What is included - Everything you need to make your own sea glass or pottery pendant
Difficulty level - Beginner
Class duration - 5 hours approx.
Location - Noctua Studio, 34 Regent Street, Liverpool, L3 7BN
What you will make
In this workshop you will design and make your own pendant to fit a piece of sea glass or pottery (from our collection or your own!). This will leave you with a unique and beautiful piece of jewellery, upcycled from previous items found in our day-to-day lives.
What you will learn
You’ll learn about where sea glass comes from, and how it ends up on our beaches. After choosing a piece of sea glass from our own collection (discovered on our trips around UK coastlines, or you can bring your own pieces!) you will measure the bezel needed to fit the sea glass, cutting out the bezel wall, sawing out the backplate, making the bail and soldering it together. Finally, you’ll polish your piece and fit your sea glass into the bezel.
You will also have the option of having no backplate to the piece, allowing light to shine through and show off the true colours.
Members of the Noctua team will be on hand throughout this process to support, advise and teach you the skills needed while allowing you to make your pendants independently.
Other information
If you need glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, and we also recommend wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit but please enquire before booking a class for anyone under the age of 16 to confirm that the workshop is suitable for children. All under 16s will need to be accompanied by a participating adult.
Prices are per person.
As tempting as it may be to have a tipple in some of our fabulous venues we request that you do not drink alcohol before or during the workshop for health and safety reasons. In doing so you will be asked to leave the workshop without a refund.
