What’s included: Your choice of faceted stone from our large collection of semi-precious stones and all the silver required plus handouts and a booklet written by us.

Difficulty level: intermediate - you must have a reasonable amount of confidence in soldering. (If you’re unsure send us a message and we’ll be happy to advise)

Duration: Full day (approximately 7 hours or until you are finished with your piece)

Where: At our beautiful Liverpool studio at 34 Regent Street, L3 7BN

What you will make

You’ll either make a prong set ring or pendant depending on your skill level. If you’re feeling confident in your soldering capabilities you’ll have the option to make a ring which is a little trickier than a pendant.

What you will learn

We’ll guide you through different stone types and shapes which are most suitable for prong setting. Then we’ll guide you through the following


- What metal sizes to use when prong setting.
- How to create the setting base.
- Adding prongs.
- Attaching a bail or ring.
- Buffing and polishing an intricate piece.
- Cutting your seat.
- Setting the stone, trimming the prongs and a final polish.

Other information
This is a very interactive workshop which is suitable for intermediate students and people with prior experience of jewellery making.

If you need glasses for reading then we recommend you bring them on the day, and we also recommend wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit.

Prices are per person.

As tempting as it may be to have a tipple in some of our fabulous venues we request that you do not drink alcohol before or during the workshop for health and safety reasons. In doing so you will be asked to leave the workshop without a refund.
