What’s included: Your choice of faceted stones from our large collection of semi-precious stones and all the silver required plus handouts and a booklet written by us.
Difficulty level: Beginner to intermediate
Duration: Full day (approximately 7 hours or until you are finished with your piece)
Where: At our beautiful Liverpool studio at 34 Regent Street, L3 7BN
What you will make
This is a skills based workshop where you will learn everything you need to make your own pieces. A premade pendant in which you will flush set a stone and a premade ring for you to attach your tube setting to will be provided.
Most of this workshop will be spent practicing making the settings with some time at the end being used to create two pieces to take home.
What you will learn
We’ll guide you through different stone types which are most suitable for tube and flush settings. Then we’ll guide you through the following
- What metal sizes to use when flush setting.
- What tube to use for settings.
- Creating your own setting tool.
- Using a flexshaft to drill and burr a seat.
- Buffing and polishing around your settings.
- Setting the stones.
- How to test your settings.
Other information
This is a very interactive workshop which is suitable for all students.
If you need glasses for reading then you will need bring them on the day, and we also recommend wearing old clothes. You will need to wear closed-toe shoes and tie up long hair. We do not have a strict age limit.
Prices are per person.
As tempting as it may be to have a tipple in some of our fabulous venues we request that you do not drink alcohol before or during the workshop for health and safety reasons. In doing so you will be asked to leave the workshop without a refund.
